ٹوکیو: جاپانی قصبے تاکاماتسو کے کاشتکاروں نے اپنے علاقے کو مشہور بنانے کے لئے آج سے تقریباً 50 سال پہلے وہاں عجیب و غریب تربوز اٴْگانے شروع کیے جو عام تربوزوں کی طرح گول نہیں بلکہ چوکور ہوتے ہیں۔

جاپانی خبر رساں ادارے کے مطابق جاپانی قصبے تاکاماتسو کے کاشتکاروں نے اپنے علاقے کو مشہور بنانے کے لئے آج سے تقریباً 50 سال پہلے وہاں عجیب و غریب تربوز اٴْگانے شروع کیے ،آج یہ تربوز نہ صرف جاپان کی شناخت بن چکے ہیں بلکہ اتنے مہنگے ہیں کہ ایک چوکور تربوز کی قیمت 100 ڈالرسے شروع ہو کر 1000 ڈالریا اس سے بھی زیادہ جا پہنچتی ہے۔

جاپانی کاشتکاروں کے مطابق ان تربوزوں کو ڈرائنگ روم میں سجایا تو جاسکتا ہے لیکن کھایا نہیں جاسکتا،اس کی کاشت صرف تاکاماتسو تک محدود نہیں بلکہ جاپان کے مختلف علاقوں میں انہیں اگایا جارہا ہے اور آن لائن فروخت بھی کیا جارہا ہے۔ اگرچہ ان کی کاشت قدرتی طریقے پر ہی کی جاتی ہے مگر یہ چھلکے سے لے کر اندرونی حصوں تک بہت سخت اور بدذائقہ ہوتے ہیں جو کسی بھی صورت کھایا نہیں جاسکتا۔ کاشتکاروں کا کہنا ہے کہ ان تربوزوں کا مقصد ہی سجاوٹ اورآرائش ہے جبکہ کھانے پینے سے ان کا کوئی تعلق نہیں ۔
