CEO Mark Zuckerberg presented Meta at Connect 2021, a new business brand that connects our apps and technologies. Meta’s primary goal will be to bring the metaverse to life by helping customers in connecting, form communities, and expand their businesses.
The metaverse, according to the business, will seem like a mix of today’s online social experiences, extended into three dimensions or projected into the physical world at times. It will allow people to have immersive experiences with others even when they are unable to be physically present with them. This involves doing things together that you wouldn’t be capable of accomplishing in the real world. It’s the next step in a long series of social technology, and it marks the start of a new era for our business.
The annual Connect conference brings together developers, content creators, marketers, and others to celebrate the industry’s energy and progress. This year’s virtual event looked at what metaverse experiences would be like in the next ten years, from social connection to entertainment, gaming, fitness, employment, education, and commerce. New tools, such as the Presence Platform, which will enable new mixed reality experiences on Quest 2, and a $150 million investment in immersive learning to train the next generation of creators, were also introduced to assist individuals in building for the metaverse.

According to the company:
“Our business structure will not change, but our financial reporting will.” We propose to report on two operating segments beginning with the fourth quarter of 2021: Family of Apps and Reality Labs. We expect to begin trading on December 1 under the new stock ticker MVRS, which we have reserved. The announcement made today has no bearing on how we use or exchange data.”
