Coronavirus Vaccine: 84,000 Healthcare Workers Will be Given First Vaccine Dose

Vaccination centers have been set up in 10 districts of Sindh, including Karachi, to provide vaccines against corona virus. The supply of vaccines will start from Thursday in these vaccination centers.

In-charge Corona Vaccination Center Khaliq Dina Hall Dr. Aftab said that the process of vaccination is conditional on NADRA. Healthcare workers will show the OTP received from NADRA.

A questionnaire consisting of 15 questions will be completed before vaccination. Only after the questions are answered will it be decided whether to vaccinate or not. The vaccine will only be available after blood pressure, heart rate and temperature have been determined.

Director General Health Sindh Irshad Memon said that 10 vaccination centers have been set up in six districts of Karachi.

With the help of NADRA, 170,000 health care workers have been registered in Sindh. Initially, 84,000 healthcare workers will receive the first dose of the vaccine. The second dose will be given 21 days later.

He added that more than a thousand doctors and nurses have been trained in this regard. People over the age of 60 will be vaccinated after health workers.

Pregnant women will not be vaccinated. As vaccines become available, the capacity of vaccination centers will increase.

It will be possible to provide phased vaccines to all people over the age of 18.

Vaccination centers have been set up at Jinnah Hospital, Khaliqdina Hall, Aga Khan University Hospital, Children’s Hospital Nagan Chowrangi, New Karachi Sindh Government Hospital, Qatar Hospital Orangi Town, Liaquatabad Sindh Government Hospital, Korangi Hospital and Dow Medical University Hospital.

Medical Superintendent New Karachi Government Hospital Dr. Tehseen said that separate wings have been set up for men and women.

The vaccine will be given to 10 people at a time in 10 cubic meters. A vaccination center has been set up with limited resources.

He said that after the delivery of vaccination, the patient will be taken care of for 30 minutes. Where any kind of complication can be treated in an emergency. Other matters will be carried out on a daily basis following the instructions of the NCOC.

According to Hum News, vaccination centers have also been set up in Badin, Larkana, Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad districts of Sindh.

To review the situation, the delegation of National Command Operations Center also visited the vaccination centers at Jinnah Hospital and Khaliq Dina Hall in Karachi.

The team was accompanied by Brigadier Ijaz, EPI Project Director Dr. Akram Sultan and DG Health Sindh.
